I thought a quick post was necessary, considering there have not been many new ideas being presented on. And I'm kinda pissed off.
Anyways, so today I fly to Vancouver, and after I land my cousin and I head to the nearest Rogers store so he can pick up his brand new 3G iPhone. Awesome right?
Well we stood in line for an hour and a half and endured the nagging, irritating complaints that were projected from this rude womens mouth right behind us. Its a good thing that there were other people in the store because she deserved a punch right in the throat.
So we go back to my cousins place and are messing around with his new 3G iPhone, and my Old-School 8GB iPhone. A couple of hours pass and still enjoying the company of our oh-so-elegant phones. Around 630 hits, and im in the middle of viewing a web page in Safari, when all of a sudden my phone appears to restart, but instead of going to the usual screen, I am presented with an image of a USB cable plugging into the iTunes logo.
Oh shit. What the hell is this?
So I resort to the only precautionary measure I know - Restart the phone!
Well that didnt work, even though I retried a good 5 times, I was still presented with the same image. So we plug it into the computer and supposedly I now have to 'Restore' my phone to default factory settings WHICH MEANS: I lose all numbers, photos, music, games etc. etc.
And then I learn that Apple has been doing this for awhile: remotely updating unlocked/jailbroken iPhones so that it 'reBricks' your phone enabling it useless.
So now im out of a phone, until I get back in a week in which my friend and I can attempt to salvage my beloved communication device.
So all in all, Fuck You Apple for screwing with me and my iPhone.
=====
Update: After some more research and discussion with friend of mine who is also an iPhone user, and also a friend of my cousin who is a phone-software engineer, it seems that it might either be
a) Apples doing - by remotely updating iPhones to ward off the thousands of unlocked iPhones (but wouldnt that be in violation to their User End Agreement? I dunno.)
b) My own fault for keeping my iPhone at such an outdated, unstable Firmware (1.1.1.)
It really doesnt matter at this point, because I still have a locked phone, but I'm confident that we'll be able to get it back working shortly.

And just the other day you were mocking everyone else's iPhones.
Owned.
Haha.
Apple can do two things right: media manipulation and MP3 players.
Macs are good for one thing: digital editing. And iPods are good for...well...music. That's it.
Bad choice. Never trust an iPhone. They suck balls as it is.
Tim: I suppose youre right, but still haha.
Anonymous: iPhones are still the most advanced and revolutionary devices out there. I agree with the fact that Apple has single-handedly transformed the MP3 market to what it is today, and I also agree that Macs are fantastic for... really only editing.
On the other hand though, iPhones are fantastic and I've loved mine ever since I got it, but now I think that it locked because of my own fault, so despite the harsh words towards Apple, and the fact that they know how to steal peoples money, they are smart about it... and damn good at it.
I wont be buying a new iPhone unless this one is unsalvageable (which it isnt), so this little set-back is only a tiny bump in my journey to ULTIMATE WORLD DOMINATION! *Cue Menacing Laugh*
Oh... and next time 'Anonymous', dont post as 'Anonymous' :) We don't bite here.
"iPhones are still the most advanced and revolutionary devices out there."
False :)

Apple has one of the best marketing teams in the corporate world, no question.
The fact is, we critisize any form of advancement. We praise the Iphone when it comes out, but when it acts up, we attack it to no end. On the other hand, if an older phone were to act up, we'd argue that the older technology is failing and we need new advancements. It's an endless cycle depending on the human condition as an anchor. We are inherently negative beings. I don't mean that in a condescending way, but we seem to need imperfection in our lives.
Just an opinion.
Tim: Thanks, I read that article when the iPhone originally came out. Its humorous, but it doesnt face the facts that the iPhone (Apple) has revolutionized the mobile, and technological industry with their innovation on the 'touch' interface. The argument presented was somewhat weak.
Ben: I agree with you. As beings, we are constantly looking for imperfections that can be degraded and belittled. I have a feeling this is all due to our primal nature of being the dominant being. By proving everything else wrong/faulty, we get the sense that we are more perfect by having that opinion.
And just to clarify, I am in no way complaining about the iPhone, im just frustrated that after having an unlocked phone for 8 months, it randomly locks up on me leaving me without a phone for a week. (No Big Deal. Haha.)
